According to Rosstat, cited by Vedomosti, this is the highest figure since November 2008, when the increase was 22%. The average income in the country in the last month of the year was 128,665 rubles before taxes, including bonuses and allowances.
In a number of regions, the salary level has significantly exceeded the national level. Moscow became the leader, where the average income reached 281,778 rubles. It is followed by the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug (262,061 rubles), the Magadan Region (224,085 rubles) and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (209,624 rubles).

The fastest wage growth was recorded in Tatarstan (33.4%), Adygea (32.5%) and Lipetsk region (32%). Experts attribute such results to indexation in the public sector, an increase in the minimum wage and the active development of key sectors of the economy.
According to experts, the record growth in household incomes raises concerns about a possible acceleration of inflation. The authorities will have to find a balance between supporting the welfare of citizens and curbing price increases in order to maintain economic stability.
