
The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin, approved the relevant decree. Social pension is provided to persons whose work experience is insufficient to receive insurance payments, as well as to a number of categories of citizens, including the disabled, orphans and other groups of the population not included in the insurance system.

In addition, starting from April 1, pension payments will increase by 14.75% for some military personnel, World War II veterans who were awarded the badge "Resident of besieged Leningrad", "Resident of besieged Sevastopol" and "Resident of besieged Stalingrad" and some other categories of the population.
As a result, the indexation will affect about 4.2 million citizens of the Russian Federation. Approximately 85 billion rubles have been allocated from the budget for these needs, according to a government release.
According to the Social Fund of the Russian Federation, the average old-age pension in Russia in 2025 should amount to 24.1 thousand rubles.
