Working professions are overtaking IT in terms of salary growth
10th of March. /MEDIA TALK/. According to the SuperJob portal, by March 1, 2025, salaries of technical professionals and production staff increased by 15.8% and 15.5%, overtaking the growth of salaries in the IT sector, which amounted to 15.3%.

Since the beginning of 2020, the information technology sector has demonstrated the highest rate of wage increases; however, by 2024, this trend has changed, the study says. The increase in income of highly qualified specialists in the manufacturing sector has accelerated. At the beginning of 2024, the gap was only 0.2%, with workers at 2% and IT specialists at 1.8%. By 2025, this spread has grown to 1.7 percentage points, reaching 5.3% among manufacturing specialties and 3.6% in the field of information technology.

Analysts expect continued accelerated wage increases for workers in the manufacturing and construction sectors in 2025. This is due to a number of key aspects. First of all, highly qualified specialists continue to occupy leading positions in terms of demand in the industry. Secondly, the aging of the population reduces the number of people who want to find a job. Thirdly, the wage adjustment corresponds to the inflationary expectations of citizens.

In the construction sector, an increase in the number of private residential facilities, the implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects and stricter rules for migrants lead to an increase in the need for labor. Analysts note that even with the automation required to develop domestic production and reduce dependence on imports, the need for qualified specialists continues to grow.

Recall that by the end of 2024, Russia saw record wage growth, exceeding 20% in annual terms.
